Editorial policy
Global Food Journal aims to make food culture clear without flattening its differences. We explain our choices, treat cultural context with care and correct the record when we find an error.
Accuracy and context
We review factual claims, names and descriptions before publication, and seek context suited to the subject. Where accounts or practices vary, we say so rather than implying that one version represents everyone. Readers can send corrections through the Contact page; we review credible concerns and update material when warranted.
Independence
Editorial decisions are made for the reader, not to satisfy a commercial partner. We do not promise favourable coverage in exchange for products, access or payment. Any material relationship relevant to a piece is disclosed clearly alongside it.
Partner material
Paid, gifted or otherwise partner-supported material is identified in plain language where readers encounter it. Partner placements are labelled and kept distinct from editorial coverage. A partnership does not give a partner the right to approve or alter independent editorial work.
Images and illustrations
Images are selected to support the subject and are not presented as documentary evidence unless they are. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; when they are, we label them as illustrations so readers can distinguish them from photographs or other documentary images.
Food is knowledge we share
Ingredients and techniques travel, change and take on new meaning. Looking closely at food helps us notice the craft and care behind a meal.
